SiSense CTO & Co-founder Wins World Technology Award Recognizing Major Contribution to Big Data Analytics Technology
Eldad Farkash, inventor of In-Chip technology, takes top honors with IT Software (Individual) award
NEW YORK, Nov. 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- SiSense, the Big Data Analytics Company, announces that CTO and Co-founder Eldad Farkash took the top prize at the World Technology Awards gala in New York City. The awards are presented annually by the World Technology Network in association with TIME, Fortune, CANN, Science/AAAS and Kurzwiel Technologies.
In addition, SiSense, the company, was honored as a finalist in the IT Software (corporate) category, alongside other visionaries, such as Dropbox and Livefyre. Winners were selected from a pool of hundreds of nominees from 60 countries around the world.
Farkash won the IT Software (Individual) award for achieving significant lasting progress with the invention of In-Chip big data analytics technology, which allows non-technical business users to analyze 100X more data at 10X the speed of traditional solutions. Past winners in this category include Sergey Brin and Larry Page (Google) and Otavio Good (Founder and CEO, Quest Visual, Inc.)
In bequeathing the award, the fellows and founding members of the World Technology Network (WTN), signify their belief that Farkash and his Research & Development team are conducting innovative work of the greatest long-term significance in the field of IT software with the invention of SiSense's high performance analytical database.
"I am extremely honored to have won this award and share it with my co-founders and R&D team," says Farkash. "When I began working on the technology behind SiSense, I met a chorus of naysayers who simply couldn't understand the evolution of hardware and how it would enable BI to be architected in new and innovative ways, away from OLTP, OLAP or traditional in-memory. We were confident from day one that In-Chip technology would enable us to reinvent Business Intelligence."
