REDWOOD CITY, Calif., June 26, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Course Hero, an online learning library where members can access over 20 million course-specific study resources contributed by a community of students and educators, has announced the dates and agenda for its 2018 Education Summit.
"Course Hero's annual Education Summit is a day of workshops, networking, and problem solving that brings together educators who are forging the future of innovation in learning and teaching," said Andrew Grauer, CEO and cofounder of Course Hero. "This year, we're honored to have a true all-star lineup of higher-ed teaching faculty, thought leaders, university presidents, and award-winning agents of change."
The Summit, which will take place on July 27, 2018, from 8:30 a.m.–10:00 p.m. at Course Hero's Redwood City headquarters and the Pullman San Francisco Bay Hotel, seeks to advance innovation in education and celebrate excellence in teaching. It brings together a highly curated community of postsecondary educators striving to create a world where every student graduates confident and prepared.
The theme for this year's summit is "Lessons in Teaching." Dr. Robert Reich, one of the world's leading thinkers about the economy, and Sir Ken Robinson, an internationally recognized authority on innovation in education, will give the Summit's opening and closing keynote addresses, respectively.
"I have always believed that education must be a constantly evolving, living thing," said Robinson. "Leaders in education must be in constant dialogue about how the latest innovations can best serve learning—that's why I'm so excited to be involved in Course Hero's 2018 Education Summit. The spirit of the whole event perfectly mirrors what I believe is the best way to engage in these sorts of conversations."
Participants will attend networking events, panel discussions, Q&As, and workshops featuring leaders in the field, including:
- Dr. Chris Emdin, a New York Times bestselling author, associate professor, and director of Science Education at the Center for Health Equity and Urban Science Education at Teachers College, Columbia University
