Singular goes big: Hires former Google Play marketing veteran Patrick Mork as Chief Marketing Officer
SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Singular, the industry's leading mobile marketing analytics platform, announced today that it has hired the Patrick Mork, the former Global Marketing Director of Google Play, as the company's Chief Marketing Officer. Mork, who built and led the team that created the Google play brand, is a long time mobile veteran with deep startup marketing experience.
While at Google he built Play's first marketing team and helped launch key products including Google play Movies & TV Shows, Google play Games, Google play Music, Google play Books as well as the Google play brand itself. An award winning marketer at Google, he was part of the Play executive management team that helped grow the business 4x to several billion dollars in revenue within two years of the rebranding from Android Market.
Prior to Google, Mork was CMO at indie app store GetJar where he established the company as an essential distribution platform for brands and advertisers looking to reach consumers on mobile devices. GetJar was acquired in 2014 by Sungy Mobile. He also served as VP of Marketing for mobile games publisher Glu mobile in Europe and was part of the management team that took the company public in 2007.
"I'm thrilled to be joining Gadi and the team as they look to make mobile marketing a much simpler and measurable channel for marketers," Mork said. "At Google, I was shocked at how difficult and time consuming it was for us to aggregate and compare data from multiple advertising and attribution sources to understand where we were getting the best ROI. Smart marketers today realize that ROI, not clicks, installs or even revenue, is the only true metric that matters and I strongly believe that Singular's ability to bring marketers cost, revenue and ROI data in a single unified solution is going to set the standard for marketers globally."
In fact, Mork is no stranger to the challenges of data analytics in the mobile ecosystem. He was previously a board advisor to app analytics company Onavo, where Singular's founders came from, which was eventually acquired by Facebook. He was also an advisor to another mobile analytics startup called Distimo which was snapped up by App Annie last year. With over 20 years of marketing experience Mork started his career at PepsiCo where he last ran marketing for Chile and Paraguay and was one of the company's youngest ever marketing managers to have responsibility over several markets.
"We're really excited to bring Patrick onboard to help us build out our vision of a unified mobile marketing solution for customers," said Gadi Elishayov, Singular's CEO and cofounder. "Our remarkable traction to date has been on the back of our technical and commercial strength but we're just scratching the surface in marketing. Patrick's help in turning our product vision into a global enterprise brand is going to be a critical driver of our success."
