Silver Lake Appoints Dave Habiger as Senior Advisor
Former NDS Group CEO Brings Extensive Digital Media Experience and Expertise in the Technology and Content Industries
MENLO PARK, Calif., Jan. 28, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Silver Lake, the global leader in technology investing, announced today that Dave Habiger has become a Senior Advisor to the firm and its portfolio companies. Mr. Habiger most recently served as CEO of the NDS Group, a leading provider of technology solutions for the digital pay-TV industry.

As CEO of the NDS Group, Mr. Habiger helped to position the company, which provides video software and security solutions for digital content, for its acquisition by Cisco for $5 billion in 2012. Prior to joining the NDS Group, Mr. Habiger served as CEO of Sonic Solutions, a digital media software provider, through its sale to Rovi Corporation. In his role at Sonic Solutions, Mr. Habiger was a leader in the industry transformation from DVDs to the distribution of film and television content via the Internet. Mr. Habiger began his career as a founder of Providence Productions, a media production company.

Mr. Habiger is a director on numerous public and private boards, including the Silicon Valley Leadership Group, the National Association of Corporate Directors, the Center for Corporate Innovation and the Advisory Board of the University of Chicago. He received a bachelor's degree in business administration from St. Norbert College and an M.B.A from the University of Chicago.
