Signal Sciences Joins Splunk Adaptive Response Initiative at .conf2017
Signal Sciences Join Forces with Splunk to Help Customers Detect and Respond to Security Threats Faster
VENICE, Calif., Sept. 25, 2017 /PRNewswire/-- Signal Sciences, the industry's first Web Protection Platform, today announced that Signal Sciences has joined the Splunk Adaptive Response Initiative. Powered by a growing list of leading cybersecurity technology vendors, Adaptive Response is a best-of-breed security initiative that leverages end-to-end context and automated, continuous response to help organizations better analyze, assess and respond to advanced attacks within their Security Operations Center (SOC). The announcement was made at .conf2017: the 8th Annual Splunk Conference.
The Adaptive Response Initiative provides a flexible framework for all security architectures, enabling customers to interact with data, extract and share new insights, gather more context and invoke actions across key security and IT domains. Meanwhile, Signal Sciences Web Protection Platform (WPP) provides comprehensive threat protection and security visibility for web applications, microservices, and APIs on any platform. The integration of Signal Sciences WPP with Splunk Adaptive Response Initiative allows customers to detect threats faster, make analytics-driven decisions, take action and improve operational efficiencies within their Security Operations Center (SOC).
"By enabling our mutual customers to leverage Splunk's platform to take actions at the application layer, Signal Sciences is adding critical application security visibility and control for security and operations teams," said Tyler Shields, Vice President of Marketing, Strategy and Partnerships at Signal Sciences. "By combining Signal Sciences WPP with Splunk Enterprise Security platform, we can help security professionals around the world gather more context to detect threats quicker and enable a more automated and continuous response against advanced attackers."
While many organizations employ a layered, multi-vendor approach to security, most individual solutions are not designed to work together out of the box. Splunk® Enterprise Security, working in conjunction with technologies like Signal Sciences helps improve detection, investigation and remediation times by centrally automating retrieval, sharing and response. As a result, customers have the power to detect and eliminate growing cyber threats like ransomware and attacks on the Internet of Things (IoT) faster than ever.
"Increasingly sophisticated threats cannot be eliminated with any single technology – there is no silver bullet for security," said Haiyan Song, senior vice president and general manager of Security Markets, Splunk. "We created the Adaptive Response Initiative to help organizations more efficiently and flexibly combat advanced attacks with their existing security architectures. Members like Signal Sciences are key to the success of Adaptive Response. We look forward to working with them as the world embraces an analytics-driven approach to security."
Built by practitioners, for practitioners, Signal Sciences WPP is one of the few solutions in the application security market that works across any modern architecture and provides the broadest coverage against real threats and attack scenarios. The platform offers a menu of deployment options, including next-gen web application firewall (NGWAF) and runtime application security protection (RASP) modules, and can also operate as a reverse proxy for legacy applications.
Since its launch in 2016, the Splunk Adaptive Response Initiative has brought together over 30 industry leading security domains covering a wide range of security technologies, including next generation firewall, endpoint security, threat intelligence, identity management, incident response and more.
