SHOW US YOUR MEXICO: Mexico Tourism Board Showcases Tourists' Most Memorable Photos
MEXICO CITY, Dec. 21, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Is it the sun setting over Riviera Nayarit? Is it a colorful market in Guanajuato? Or is it a majestic Mayan Pyramid? These are just some of the images that came to minds when the Mexico Tourism Board asked tourists, "What does Mexico mean to you?"
Tourists were asked to submit their favorite photographs on Facebook from their Mexican vacations for the chance to win a trip for two to Mexico to celebrate New Year's. The three photos with most "likes" were then judged by a panel comprised of members of the Mexico Tourism Board, who selected Victor Garza as the winner. Mr. Garza entered a selection of photographs which truly demonstrated the culture and beauty of Mexico and earned the most likes from fans.
"It was incredible to see how many photos captured the complexity and diversity of the Mexican landscape," stated Gerardo Llanes, chief marketing officer of the Mexico Tourism Board. "We hope these photos will inspire our Facebook fans to visit Mexico to experience our rich history and culture, authentic cuisine and thrilling adventures."
This is just the latest social media element added to the new innovative ads that were created to change perceptions of and drive tourism to Mexico as a part of "The Mexico Taxi Project" campaign. The campaign can be seen nationally in the United States and Canada and will continue into 2012.
