Legendary sports agent Leigh Steinberg begins Unstoppable Foundation "Toast Your Hero" Facebook campaign; Challenges CNN's Don Lemon, NFL Hall of Famer Warren Moon and L.A. Clippers coach Doc Rivers
LOS ANGELES, Nov. 13, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Leigh Steinberg, legendary sports agent and inspiration for the motion picture Jerry Maguire, has kicked off The Unstoppable Foundation "Toast Your Hero, Become a Hero" campaign to educate thousands of children in Africa.
On his Facebook page, Steinberg toasts his father Warren Steinberg, who, he says, "taught me to try to make a meaningful difference in the world and help people who can't help themselves." "The Unstoppable Foundation is doing amazing work in Africa, and I want you to know we're going to do everything we can to help them," says Steinberg before raising his glass and joking, "It's just water, Dad."
Steinberg, author of The Agent: My 40-Year Career Making Deals and Changing the Game, challenged Don Lemon of CNN, NFL Hall of Famer Warren Moon and L.A. Clippers coach Glenn Anton "Doc" Rivers, to toast their heroes and pledge support. Paraphrasing the famous line from Jerry Maguire, Steinberg exclaims, "Show me the pledge!" Cynthia Kersey, founder and CEO of The Unstoppable Foundation, said, "It took us five years to provide a daily education for more than 5,000 children in Africa. We're ready to accomplish in the next five months what it took five years to do, raising funds to educate the next 5,000 children by raising a toast in the Unstoppable Foundation Toast Your Hero Facebook campaign."
Since the founding of The Unstoppable Foundation in 2008, more than 6,000 children are receiving a daily education and a nutritious meal, and more than 20,000 community members have access to the five pillars of education, clean water, sanitation, healthcare, food and nutrition, and income training. The Unstoppable Foundation partners with organizations on the ground to implement self-sustaining communities upon these five pillars.
Everyone is invited to participate by grabbing their smartphone and creating a video for Facebook with the tag #UnstoppableHeroToast in three simple steps: 1. Toast Your Hero, 2. Become a Hero by donating at https://UnstoppableFoundation.org, 3. Nominate three friends to toast their heroes and become heroes to children in need.
The Unstoppable Foundation is a non-profit humanitarian organization bringing sustainable education to children and communities in developing countries, thereby creating a safer and more just world for everyone.
