SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif., Oct. 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Strong growth across several markets fueled a 44% average increase in online same-store sales for Shopatron brands in Q3 2011 over Q3 2010. Shopatron, the world's leading eCommerce provider for branded manufacturers, services over 1,000 brands in 35 industries.

"With almost 250 new brands joining Shopatron already this year, some that weren't previously selling online, we expect to see solid growth in sales volume," says Mark Grondin, Shopatron SVP of Marketing. "But a 44% same-store sales increase certainly exceeds expectations in this challenging economy, and indicates that the trend toward buying online from brands won't level off anytime soon."
It helps that features like ship-to-store and in-store pickup have brought eCommerce to many industries like home furnishings and automotive aftermarket that previously steered clear of selling online. Shopatron brands in the home furnishings industry saw average Q3 same-store sales increase 131%, while those in automotive aftermarket experienced a 147% average increase.
Other industries new to Shopatron also saw remarkable growth. Personal care brands increased online sales 74% in Q3 and lawn and garden brands grew 47% on average. While one of Shopatron's strongest and more mature industries, consumer electronics, neared double-digit growth, increasing 90% over Q3 2010. An early spike in sales in the snowsports industry in Q3, up 53% over Q3 2010, bodes well for sales this coming winter season.
"Shopatron isn't standard eCommerce, and I think that's why we experience such hearty growth quarter after quarter," says founder and CEO Ed Stevens. "Shopatron is retail-integrated eCommerce. We partner brands with their retailers for every eCommerce transaction, which means shoppers buy from the brand they trust and then get more options and better service, resulting in a better overall customer experience. They buy more, and they buy more often, and that's a win-win-win for the consumer, the retailer and the branded manufacturer."
