BOSTON, Nov. 26, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- ShopAdvisor, the mobile shopping leader, has just released updates to its iOS apps and website that empower consumers to shop more confidently, save time and have some fun this holiday season, and beyond. The enhancements build on signature ShopAdvisor tools like a searchable database of 200 million products for best deals and availability, instant alerts when prices drop on desired items and scanning for in-store price matching.
Now, ShopAdvisor iOS and website users can also:
- Browse and shop issues of Cosmopolitan, Real Simple, People StyleWatch and other top magazines. Just click or tap a title and start shopping from entire issues or specially-themed collections curated by editors. ShopAdvisor will keep you in the know about availability and prices of desired items at competing retailers, and link you to retailers when you're ready to buy.
- Find the latest Black Friday deals and discounts from leading retailers such as Best Buy, Sports Authority, REI, Macy's, Walmart and JC Penney in a snap. ShopAdvisor curates circulars and monitors for new offers from retailers in all major product categories online and in-store
- Tap a powerful recommendations engine to discover items similar to ones you've identified from other brands or at different price points. ShopAdvisor now provides a full shopping experience, going beyond specific product searches to broader recommendations based on each user's history and recent activity. Must-have big designer name shoes? Tap on its ShopAdvisor listing and up will pop a selection of similar products. Stick with them or go with another pair? The full power of choice (and the best prices) are at your fingertips.
- Get advice from the ShopAdvisor community. Love something you see? Tap the new "Love It" heart icon to bookmark it and see what percentage of fellow ShopAdvisor users agree it's fabulous. ShopAdvisor does the rest, tracking prices and availability. Or "Leave It" by tapping the broken heart and ShopAdvisor will note your preferences to make future recommendations even stronger.
"ShopAdvisor is the 'start button' for smarter, better informed shopping," said Scott Cooper, ShopAdvisor CEO. "Our new features grew right out of what our users said they wanted most like a full, rich shopping experience, along with a more seamless and elegant user experience, which begins the moment you visit our updated iOS apps and website."
