Shenzhen University Launched the First AR School Badge with QQ AR Scanning for A Panoramic View of the Campus
SHENZHEN, China, Aug. 14, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- On August 10 , Shenzhen University launched its long-prepared talisman - AR School Badge - in front of the media at the International Conference Hall of Shenzhen University. We may see that by using a mobile phone's QQ AR to scan the school badge, the school badge will be activated and turned into a cartoon image of Shenzhen University, guiding users to enjoy a 360 degree panoramic view of the campus; when the mobile phone is moving, video content will change accordingly to match the movement of the mobile phone. QQ AR is a product of Tencent Technology.
The AR school badge is available everywhere without restriction of geographical location, and can be scanned in QQ AR with a mobile phone at any time in any place as long as the badge is in sight. The alumni can scan anytime and anywhere to return to their Alma mater, in order to have a look at the changes on campus.
Enjoying a panoramic view of the campus is not the only option, users can also interact with the President of Shenzhen University, students and alumni there.
This should be the first AR School Badge in China, and even may be the first one in the world.
Last year, Shenzhen University led a trend with a special Letter of Acceptance named "Big Package of Shenzhen University", and was spotlighted by media reports. Now by launching the AR school badge, it took one step forward this year.
The AR school badge is an important milestone for the popularization of AR technology. As a partner of this AR school badge project, Xian Yecheng (General Manager of Instant Message Product Department, Tencent Social Network Group) claimed, "AR has one feature, i.e. it can give new content and meaning without changing the physical world. We will commit to exploring more scenarios and offering AR more entertainment, functions and meanings, so as to let AR function better."
QQ AR previously made several attempts in different types of AR scenarios, from the Olympic AR torch relay to AR red envelopes for the Spring Festivals, from posters of movies like "The Fast and the Furious" and "Transformers: The Last Knight" to physical scanning of McDonald's hamburgers, among which AR torch and AR red envelopes once evoked more than a hundred million users' participation. In the future, QQ AR will be devoted to developing more application scenarios, thus inviting AR into our daily life.SOURCE Tencent Technology
