On the forefront of trends in company health benefit programs, Sheetz along with its partner Marathon-Health, will use medical staff to provide individual health and wellness coaching to employees and their eligible dependents. The Shwellness Center is intended to help Sheetz employees improve their overall health by creating awareness of their own health conditions, while allowing them to better manage their medical care costs. All services are offered to eligible employees and dependents free of charge.
"Sheetz has been voted by our employees as among the best places to work for more than a decade because we do everything we can to acknowledge their value and keep them happy in their jobs," says President and CEO of Sheetz Inc. Stan Sheetz. "We are proud to be able to invest in the lives of our team members across the company and we hope the programs and services offered at the Center will keep them on a path to healthier lifestyles."
Sheetz designed the Center for Shwellness to be more than an exercise facility. In addition to the state-of-the-art fitness center that includes a full line of cardio and strength equipment, a quarter-mile outdoor track and a group exercise room, employees will also have the option of participating in healthy living, disease management and lifestyle classes in the learning center. Several different types of health screenings will also be available at the Center, in addition to treatment for acute care and chronic conditions.
"The Sheetz Center for Shwellness will be the hub for all future wellness initiatives, bringing convenient health resources to local employees, as well as using technology to bring similar wellness resources to employees outside the immediate area," says Travis Eckels of Marathon Health. "Our clinical staff is committed to helping people improve their lives through health education, motivation and individual coaching. Our onsite team of health care practitioners establishes meaningful relationships with employees and is available to them exclusively as they work together to reach their personal goals."
