Shawnee Mission School District Partners with Marathon Health to Provide Onsite Health Services

SHAWNEE MISSION, Kan., Oct. 19, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Marathon Health, LLC, a provider of onsite health centers that enable employers to optimize the health of their workforce and business, today announced a partnership with Shawnee Mission School District to provide primary and preventive care services to more than 3,500 eligible employees, spouses and dependents. The PriorityOne Health Center, located at the new Center for Academic Achievement, began seeing patients on August 16. Within the first 15 days, the health center recorded 149 provider visits, 49 of which were for health coaching. Patients have reported a high satisfaction rate, with 100 percent responding that they would recommend the center and 100 percent rating the services they received at the center as excellent or good.

Based in Shawnee Mission, Kansas, Shawnee Mission School District is the third largest school district in the state of Kansas. The district serves more than 27,500 students who attend 33 elementary schools, five middle schools and five high schools. The partnership with Marathon Health is part of Shawnee Mission School District's effort to increase access to primary and preventive care services, improve the health of their population and stabilize healthcare costs.
