CHATSWORTH, Calif., Feb. 2, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- It cannot be denied – Caring is Sexy! Sexy Hair, the professional hair care brand and creator of the best-selling and award-winning Big Sexy Hair Spray & Play hairspray, is proud to announce a recent achievement of donating more than $1 million to deserving charities and organizations. Dedicated to spreading passion, inspiration and self-empowerment, Sexy Hair has prioritized giving back to the community through annual company-wide walk-a-thons, product warehouse sales, and limited edition packaging. The company has donated to dozens of notable charitable organizations and causes over the years, most notably to Sexy Hair brand partner Look Good Feel Better®, a non-medical, public service program dedicated to helping people with cancer cope with the appearance side effects of their treatment. The program teaches beauty techniques to help people with cancer manage the appearance side effects of treatment.
"It is both humbling and amazing to be a partner with Look Good Feel Better, an initiative that is committed to better the lives of women," said Karl-Heinz Pitsch, President and CEO at Sexy Hair. "The core mission of Sexy Hair is to encourage people everywhere to look and feel their best. We are proud to have surpassed our charitable goal as a company, as we have accomplished something as a team that extends beyond the success of our business."
To celebrate the milestone, Sexy Hair most recently hosted the "Red Party" gala at the company's annual sales conference, where an additional $114,000 was given to Look Good Feel Better from fundraising efforts in 2016. In attendance was Calysta "Caly" Bevier, the stage 3 ovarian cancer survivor who made her mark on Ellen and impressed the judges on America's Got Talent last year with her vocals and passion. Bevier was honored recently by Look Good Feel Better as one of their "DreamGirls," and is a new ambassador of the charity.
"More than 800,000 women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with cancer this year, many of whom will not only face the physical effects of the disease itself, but also the psychological toll that treatment and recovery can have on their spirit," said Louanne Roark, Executive Director of the Personal Care Products Council Foundation and the Look Good Feel Better program. "Look Good Feel Better helps improve morale and gives women with cancer back some control, confidence and hope during a very difficult time. We are proud to hold a partnership with Sexy Hair; their support has helped strengthen the program's reach, and echoed the positive effects of self-esteem and self-love."
Sexy Hair will continue to contribute to charitable organizations through events and programs beyond 2017, beginning with the recent Red Party donation.
