ServisFirst Bank Ranked Top Ten National Midtier Bank by American Banker
BIRMINGHAM, Ala., June 6, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- ServisFirst Bank, a subsidiary of ServisFirst Bancshares, Inc. (NASDAQ: SFBS) is ranked 8th out of 217 eligible institutions in American Banker's list of Midtier Performers with $2 billion to $10 billion in assets in the United States. The criterion is based on three-year average returns on equity (ROAE) for 2013-2015. ServisFirst had a three-year average ROAE of 14.93 percent.
American Banker's ranking of the top Midtier Performers highlights an 8.79% median for three-year return on average equity within midtier banks. Compared to the 8.03% median ROAE for banks over $10 billion in assets and 7.26% median ROAE for banks less than $2 billion in assets, midtier banks are performing at a higher rate and are more profitable than their larger and smaller counterparts. According to Capital Performance Group, these higher returns on equity for midtier banks are a direct result of their higher loan and deposit growth year-over-year.
