Serta Partners with Fisher House Foundation to Bring Comfort to Military Families
Leading mattress manufacturer launches new cause program to further deliver on brand promise
HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill., Sept. 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- With products designed and built in the USA and a reputation for comfort, Serta, the leading mattress manufacturer in the United States, is launching a new corporate social responsibility program, "Serta Comforts Our Heroes." Kicking off today, this program will expand on Serta's brand promise of delivering comfort by bringing comfort to our troops and their families through a partnership with Fisher House Foundation.
Since 1990, Fisher House Foundation has provided more than 5,200,000 days of lodging to 200,000 families that have loved ones receiving treatments at military and veteran's hospitals. Serta's new program will aim to bring comfort to the growing number of occupants staying at Fisher House locations all over the U.S.
"Serta knows that the families of our military and veterans spend many restless nights thinking of what they can do to comfort their loved ones," said Andrew Gross, senior vice president of marketing for Serta. "Serta will redefine what it means to comfort our troops and their families through our new cause program--Serta Comforts Our Heroes. Through this partnership, Serta will bring much needed items to the individual Fisher House locations, benefitting the families that stay there. We are also asking consumers to support the Fisher House Foundation through a Twitter campaign that gives back."
The #SertaComforts Sweepstakes:
As part of the Serta Comforts Our Heroes program, Serta hopes to learn about what comforts people the most with a national sweepstakes that will benefit Fisher House. From favorite blankets, to pets, to comfort foods, Serta is encouraging consumers to share via Twitter what brings them the most comfort in life by utilizing the hashtag #SertaComforts. For every qualifying photo received between September 15, 2014 and Veteran's Day 2014, Serta will donate one night's sleep (valued at $10) to Fisher House Foundation, up to 2,500 nights paid for by Serta. During the sweepstakes, Serta will select one participant each week to receive a set of new and improved iComfort® Scrunch Pillows®, filled with the same Cool Action™ Dual Effects® gel memory foam featured in Serta's new iComfort mattresses and valued at $79 each. To qualify, participants should also use #sweeps in their entry to disclose involvement.
"Families staying at Fisher Houses are able to focus on what's important – the healing process of their loved one," said David Coker, Fisher House Foundation president. "We appreciate Serta's thoughtful campaign to further bring military families comfort and care during a stressful time in their life."
Serta Comfort Tour:
Serta will also survey Fisher House managers to learn what is needed most at Fisher House locations as well as what families miss most from home. After gathering this information from each Fisher House Manager, Serta will work to bring these items to Fisher Houses and the families through the Serta Comfort Tour.
