NEWTOWN, Conn., July 26, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Senior Lifestyle Corporation, an industry-leading owner, operator and developer of senior living communities, announced the official ground breaking of one of its newest planned communities, Church Hill Village. Church Hill Village will be developed in partnership with Teton Capital Co., LLC, and JRP Architects, LLC and Senior Lifestyle Corporation.
Church Hill Village is scheduled to open in summer 2019 and will feature 49 assisted-living apartment homes, as well as 22 memory care residences developed specifically to support those with Alzheimer's, dementia and other memory-impairing illnesses. The 66,000 square foot retirement community will sit on nearly four acres of land at the northeast corner of The Boulevard and Church Hill Road.
"What makes Church Hill Village so special is that it offers the latest from a care, design and amenity perspective while incorporating a warm and nurturing environment – all while backed with the expertise in operations from a veteran in senior living," said Nancy Cutter, vice president of development, Senior Lifestyle Corporation. "We have worked to bring this innovative concept to market for many years and are excited to provide existing and potential future residents of Newtown offerings tailored for this historic New England town."
Residents of Church Hill Village will have access to 15,938 square feet of common spaces designed to provide abundant natural light, as well as a bar and lounge with a fireplace, salon, wellness and fitness area, spa, multi-purpose room and theatre, private dining room, an arts and crafts studio, and more. The community is designed to connect residents with nature by providing thoughtful integration of indoor and outdoor spaces, multiple accessible gardens, patios, outdoor activity areas and walking paths.
What's more, the four-acre gently sloping site is within the commercial Village District and in walking distance of many retail establishments, businesses, schools and churches. Edged by trees and a fieldstone wall around its perimeter, decades ago the property was a farm complete with farmhouse and barn. Using this historic reference, the designers recreated the concept of the farmhouse and barn as common areas for residents, their families, guests and employees.
The development brings approximately 150 jobs to the local community during the expected 14-month construction period. Additionally, Senior Lifestyle expects to hire nearly 63 full-time equivalent jobs with both full- and part-time permanent positions.
"Teton Capital is committed to developing communities that provide best-in-class care coupled with thoughtful, resident-focused site selection, design and technology implementation," said Bill Donohue, managing partner, Teton Capital. "Given Senior Lifestyle's successful track record of operating communities that combine desired social programming with the essential services seniors need, we knew their holistic and highly personalized approach is perfectly suited for Church Hill Village."
Diamond Charter Membership will be available for reservation and waitlist immediately for Church Hill Village and offers potential residents a variety of benefits, including first selection of apartment-homes, priority pricing packages, a full-service relocation package and more.
