"Sadly, Sen. Reid clings to class warfare rhetoric when discussing taxes. He seems to think that what people earn belongs to the government to use on their behalf. He thinks that tax cuts are like government handouts, when in fact cuts allow people to keep more of what they already earned. It is the people's money, not the government's, and judging by his long tax hiking record, Sen. Reid doesn't seem to be able to grasp that basic fact. He keeps talking about the need to tax the rich, perhaps he's referring to his neighbors at the Ritz Carlton in DC, but the policies he's voted for have hit the middle class and small business owners the most. They're the ones suffering through this bad economy and high unemployment back in Nevada, and they deserve better," said Audrey Mullen, a spokeswoman for the Committee.
