Sempra Energy Utilities Wins BPM Award for Innovative Case Management Solution from Eccentex
LOS ANGELES, Oct. 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Eccentex Corporation, a leading provider of software-as-a-service (SaaS) applications and platform-as-a-service (PaaS) for Dynamic Case Management (DCM), announced today that Sempra Energy Utilities won a 2014 WfMC Global Award for Excellence in Business Process Management and Workflow for its implementation of Eccentex's AppBase solution.
Now in its 21st year, these esteemed awards recognize organizations that have implemented original business process solutions to surpass business objectives. Winners were selected by a global panel of leading experts on BPM. The awards were co-sponsored by the Workflow Management Coalition (WfMC) and BPM.com.
"Hundreds of hours have been invested by our judges to ensure that only the highest quality of case studies met the benchmarks we set and this year did not disappoint. The rigorous criteria involves not only technical achievement but also both business impact and process innovation. This year's winners represent the best of BPM across the globe," said Nathaniel Palmer, WfMC executive director and editor of BPM.com.
Eccentex's AppBase 5.2 is a cloud-based DCM platform that allows for the leveraging of information, processes and people to provide a full view of company cases. Southern California Gas Co (The Gas Co) and San Diego Gas Co (SDG), the regulated utilities within Sempra Energy, a Fortune 500 energy services holding company, maintain thousands of miles of natural gas pipelines and needed a tracking platform that would allow 500 knowledge workers to effectively collaborate. AppBase's customizable system helped Sempra Energy Utilities increase worker efficiency and allowed employees to easily access documents that were updated across multiple departments.
"In order to maintain the highest level of awareness for all high pressure pipelines that we operate, Eccentex has provided us with an efficient and reliable document management system that has reduced the risk of pipeline compromise due to incomplete information," said Lev Berkovich, project manager, enterprise systems support at The Gas Co. "Eccentex has more than met the needs of our 500-plus users and we are looking forward to continuing our partnership."
With AppBase's detailed indexing features, extensive search capabilities and OCR image processing, The Gas Co and SDG employees were able to streamline workflow and increase productivity. Eccentex's AppBase is an enterprise-ready platform that is easily scalable.
"We are proud to support Sempra Energy Utilities with a customizable DCM solution," said Len Tokar, founder and executive vice president of Eccentex. "Sempra's success demonstrates how an organization can coordinate tasks and manage content with hundreds of employees throughout the enterprise to meet unique business objectives, including compliance with local, state and federal regulatory requirements."
