SEEBURGER's Cloud-Based Integration Services Surge 40% Year-over-Year
29% Growth in Customer Base & 50% Jump in Transaction Volume in Last 12 Months
ORLANDO, Fla., May 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- SEEBURGER Inc. today announced a 40% revenue growth in its cloud-based integration services over the last 12 months, including a 29% increase in the customer base and a 50% increase in transaction volumes for these offerings. The growth marked the largest annual jump in the SEEBURGER Cloud Integration business to date, reflecting increasing acceptance of the cost-saving hosted model for electronic data interchange, managed file transfer and other document exchange functions critical to driving supply chain communications and business process efficiencies.
Building on SEEBURGER's 25 years of business-to-business integration expertise, the expansion included new customers of all sizes on three continents and in industry sectors ranging from automotive to technology, manufacturing, consumer product goods and retail. Cloud integration services customers onboarded in the past 12 months include tedrive Steering Systems, Cobega, Sodexo, Saint Gobain, Danish Post and Crystal Geyser Water Company.
Reduced Upfront Investment
California-based Crystal Geyser migrated from an installed EDI translator to SEEBURGER's community cloud service following an ERP upgrade to SAP R/3. Moving to the cloud eliminated the need to invest in a new in-house EDI infrastructure or employ an in-house specialist. Services including 24/7 monitoring, message validation, problem analysis/resolution and system updates are bundled into the monthly fee and handled by SEEBURGER personnel. Self-service message tracking is also included, allowing both IT and business users to quickly research customer inquiries about issues such as order status.
"The extra services and IT staff savings easily justify the cost. We're actually getting more for our money than if we had kept the system installed in our own data center," said John Herrick, IT Manager for Crystal Geyser. "Since we don't have the man-hours or the staff expertise to readily maintain an integration system ourselves, the cloud services option is ideal both from a practical perspective and in being able to source the service from experts with more than two decades of EDI experience."
Multiple Cloud Options
SEEBURGER's cloud platform is based on its flagship Business Integration Suite (BIS), a powerful and highly scalable integration service that reduces administrative costs and accelerates business processes for thousands of organizations around the globe. Customers can choose from SEEBURGER's community cloud, where the infrastructure is shared by multiple organizations, and virtual private cloud, offering custom integration and support for the unique process requirements of individual enterprises.
Services available from SEEBURGER Managed Services include:
- Message/document routing, enabling routing across any communication protocol without requiring a change in legacy technology to support trading partners using different message formats. In the automotive industry, for example, this allows suppliers to comply with OEM mandates to migrate to the OFTP2 protocol without investing in an OFTP2 adapter solution.
- SaaS-based B2B integration, for organizations that need both routing and data conversion for automated integration with customers' or suppliers' back-end systems. The Software-as-a-Service model frees companies of data transformation responsibilities and associated costs, including message mappings, data validation and adapter investments.
- Online marketplace communications, including SEEBURGER's own industry-neutral iMartOne, for quickly connecting buyers and suppliers that lack EDI and/or ERP systems. The service enables purchase orders, invoices and other documents to be exchanged through a web portal without any in-house infrastructure required by the hub organizations.
SEEBURGER's large library of pre-built industry- and transaction-specific maps, as well as the company's compliance with every data standard, communication protocol and industry mandate, speed rollout and reduce risk. In addition, SEEBURGER's managed services customers uniquely have the option to bring their e-business infrastructure in-house at any time without purchasing a completely new solution.
"In the world of e-business, the push to the cloud is being driven by the proliferation of standards, processes and industry mandates. Outsourcing business integration functions dramatically lowers the total cost of ownership while also accelerating deployment and reducing IT overhead," said Matthew Mikell, Director Cloud Solutions, SEEBURGER. "The expansion of our managed services business is being fueled by those benefits in general and SEEBURGER's integration expertise in particular. For many organizations, moving to the SEEBURGER cloud is a more practical and/or cost-effective strategy for meeting e-business infrastructure needs."
