Seattle City Light Selects InterTalk Dispatch Consoles

DARTMOUTH, Nova Scotia, March 8, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- InterTalk (formerly Pantel International) has been awarded a contract with Seattle City Light (SCL), the tenth largest public power system in the United States, to upgrade their existing dispatch console system after successfully completing a competitive procurement process. The 22-position console system will feature an IP-connected backup facility, and will take advantage of InterTalk's integrated voting and transmitter steering system.

"We believe there is a strong fit between what SCL has stated as their technical requirements, and the extensive capabilities of the InterTalk dispatch console," said Chris Oldham, Vice President of Operations. "SCL has some very unique operations, having made modifications to the existing console and radio systems over the years, and InterTalk is the ideal bridge between SCL's existing system and their vision for the future."

The award is the latest in the utility market for InterTalk, adding to recent contracts with Bonneville Power Authority and SaskPower in the past two years. With an increased emphasis being placed on data security by the U.S. Department of Energy, InterTalk's ISO 27001:2013 certification for Information Security Management Systems addressed the information security needs of Seattle City Light's operations and its approximately 400,000 customers.
