Seasoned Salesforce Marketing Cloud Executive Joins Invoca as CEO
Gregg Johnson brings extensive digital marketing and SaaS experience to propel call intelligence company toward the next era of product innovation and enterprise growth
SANTA BARBARA, Calif., Oct. 11, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Invoca, the call intelligence company, today announced Gregg Johnson as its new CEO. The former Salesforce Marketing Cloud executive brings a decade of digital marketing and SaaS expertise to lead Invoca toward the next era of product innovation and enterprise growth. Johnson will accelerate Invoca's mission to help companies drive higher revenue and engagement by bringing phone calls and voice conversations into the digital customer journey.
One of the biggest challenges brands face today is integrating online and offline marketing channels to create a seamless and consistent customer experience. As part of an effort to address this, IDC predicts that CMOs will spend $32.3B in marketing technology by 2018. And with annual calls to businesses reaching 169 billion by 2020 and influencing more than $1 Trillion in U.S. consumer spending, call intelligence is a strategic and growing area of investment for enterprise brands.
Invoca is at the forefront of this trend, enabling leading enterprise customers including Microsoft, Allstate, SunTrust, Frontier Communications, and Vivint Smart Home to bring phone calls into the digital age. Over the past three years, Invoca grew its enterprise customer base by 550 percent and increased its average enterprise deal size by 276 percent, in addition to 500 percent growth in recurring software revenue over the same time period. In parallel with this tremendous growth, Invoca launched three industry-first products in the last year alone, enabling marketers to incorporate calls into the customer journey: Invoca for Adobe Marketing Cloud, Invoca for Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Invoca for Facebook.
At Invoca, Johnson will draw on his extensive experience bringing products to market in emerging categories and working with the world's best enterprise brands. Most recently, Johnson led Salesforce Marketing Cloud's social marketing product line, where he integrated $1 billion of M&A investments into the Salesforce product portfolio. Prior to that he drove product strategy and development for Salesforce Chatter, helping define the nascent category of enterprise social networking and rolling out one of Salesforce's most successful products. Earlier in his career, Johnson was a consultant at Boston Consulting Group and worked in sales, marketing and product roles at several startups. He graduated from Stanford and Wharton School of Business.
"A phone call is really a moment of truth. You either live up to your brand promise and connect with that caller in a personalized and relevant way, or you miss your chance, losing a customer and wasting all the marketing that led to that moment," said Johnson. "Invoca is empowering marketers to bring the billions of calls that happen every year into the digital age. It's a hugely important and unique opportunity."
"I worked on the same team as Gregg when I was at Salesforce. He's always been the guy everybody wants to work for and work with," commented Mark Suster, Partner at Upfront Ventures. "I'm so honored to be able to work with him again where he'll bring 10+ years of SaaS experience from the market leader into his new CEO role."
Johnson will make his first formal appearance as CEO at the company's second annual Call Intelligence Summit on October 20 in Santa Barbara, where he'll join senior marketers and thought leaders from Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Forrester, AllState, LendingTree and many others to address Invoca's customers, partners and prospects about the integral role phone calls and voice conversations play in today's omnichannel world.
