In response, SD Myers has officially launched its Transformer Specialist Certification Program and associated virtual Transformer Education Center, at www.transformereducation.com, a revolutionary program designed to train transformer experts. The demand in the industry created by this approaching storm has concerned S.D. Myers. With this in mind, they have contracted many of the industry's leading experts, combined them with their existing expert training staff and 45 years in the business with Training & Education, Diagnostic Analytical Services, Engineering Services, Engineered Products and developed a curriculum that goes beyond anything currently offered by training companies or colleges and universities specifically related to power transformers of all shapes and sizes.
The Transformer Specialist Certification Program consists of three certification levels: Transformer Specialist I (TS1), Transformer Specialist II (TS2) and Master Transformer Specialist (MTS). The Transformer Specialist I (TS1) Certification is designed to provide complete and foundational knowledge of the internal and external elements of the transformer and the critical fundamentals of transformer operation and maintenance. The Transformer Specialist II (TS2) develops the expertise and the skills necessary to identify and interpret test results, perform transformer condition assessments, manage service specifications, qualify service providers and make critical maintenance decisions or recommendations based on analysis and interpretation of chemical and electrical test results and history. The Master Transformer Specialist (MTS) provides advanced education for the individual who is or will be managing the maintenance program or administrating the delivery of a maintenance program. The MTS course will take the student through vital components of the transformer lifecycle, from purchasing and observing factory testing, to overseeing the transportation and installation of the transformer, to developing maintenance standards, including Load Tap Changers and High Voltage Circuit Breakers. Each graduate will be a part of a unique community of alumni where they can collaborate on issues, help each other solve problems, network regarding new technologies and access technical resources.
"We believe this is the most distinctive and valuable transformer education available in the world today," said Dale Bissonette, President of S. D. Myers, Inc." as students of this program will gain unparalleled competence and confidence, and will be part of an elite community of alumni that will connect them to technical resources, other alumni, industry experts and instructors to assist with issues or questions they may encounter."
The Charter Class was sold out in early May. Registration for future classes beginning this Fall and more can be learned about this program at www.transformereducation.com.
