Scottsdale Strengthening Reputation as High-Tech Hub for Innovative Companies
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Nov. 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- As Scottsdale continues to attract and foster technologically innovative businesses, the city is quickly solidifying its reputation as a modern, high-tech hub.
Among the growing high-tech companies in Scottsdale is Blue Global Media, a performance marketing company that connects consumers to online products, including loans, insurance offers, credit reports and other common consumer services. They also offer advertising solutions that allow advertisers to acquire customers online while focusing on return on investment.
Blue Global Media reported revenue of $8.13 million in the third quarter of 2011, a 277% increase from their revenue in the same period of 2010. Blue Global Media founder and CEO Chris Kay attributed the company's continued growth to the quality of their consumer offers and the success of performance marketing as an increasingly popular advertising model.
"We're able to continue our growth because we create premium consumers offers that we know have a demand in today's market," said Kay. "Performance marketing as a whole is also on the upswing – when advertisers only pay for the results they want, they'll continually use our business model to reach customers."
Scottsdale Fostering Innovation, High-Tech Growth
In recent years, Scottsdale has gained a reputation for attracting and fostering innovative high-tech businesses. The city is home to the world's largest domain registrar, The Go Daddy Group, as well as ASU Skysong, the ASU Scottsdale Innovation Center – a business center offering innovative business services to international and domestic companies. Other tech-savvy Scottsdale companies include iCrossing, a digital marketing agency with 750 employees and 18 worldwide offices, and AmazingMail, a leader in direct mail marketing.
In 2011, the Inc. 5000 List included 83 companies from the Phoenix metro area, several of which are based in Scottsdale. To Chris Kay, this comes as no surprise. "We have a culture of very talented technical professionals in the valley, and we're starting to see Scottsdale attract a lot of attention from venture capitalists and other groups. At Blue Global Media, that's the type of environment we're trying to foster."
Adding Valuable Jobs to Scottsdale Economy
Amid their growth, Blue Global Media continues to add jobs to the Phoenix metro area economy. In 2011, the company created more than 10 positions; they expect to add at least 10 job opportunities by the end of the year, and 20 positions in the first half of 2012. The company is looking to hire directors, managers and coordinators in their sales, marketing, business operations and web development departments.
Positions that Blue Global Media is hiring include:
- Call center representatives
- Sales & marketing assistants
- Affiliate managers
- Media buyer
- Web designers & developers
This is a significant addition to a Scottsdale economy that has a 6.3% unemployment rate, lower than state and nationwide averages. According to the Scottsdale Area Chamber of Commerce, it's small and mid-sized businesses, like Blue Global Media, that are essential to the long-term economic growth of the city.
Landmark Year for Blue Global Media
Blue Global Media's growth caps an eventful year for the company. In January, Blue Global Media moved its headquarters to the Scottsdale Waterfront area, a bustling development in downtown Scottsdale.
In August, Blue Global Media was named #179 on the Inc. 500 List of Fastest-Growing Private Companies. Overall, they were the fastest-growing private marketing and advertising company in Arizona and the fourth fastest-growing Arizona-based company on the list. According to Kay, the company expects to achieve $10 million in revenue for the fourth quarter of 2011.
For the second consecutive year, Blue Global Media will be a sponsor of Affiliate Summit West, taking place in Las Vegas, Nevada from January 8 – 10, 2012. Affiliate Summit expects more than 12,000 participants and is the industry's largest event, offering affiliates, advertisers and other companies the chance to network and discover the newest trends in affiliate marketing.
