BETHESDA, Md., July 22, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- SANS Institute, a cooperative research and education organization and the largest source for world-class information security training and security certification, today announced its upcoming webinar series in partnership with CrowdStrike, a global provider of security technologies and services focused on identifying advanced threats and targeted attacks. Together, SANS and CrowdStrike will offer a quarterly webcast to the technical community called "Hacking Exposed Live" which will discuss topics relevant to today's security environment.
The first webinar in the Hacking Exposed Live Webcast series, "Visualizing Intelligence with Maltego," will take place on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at 1:00 PM EDT. This session will feature George Kurtz, CEO of CrowdStrike and author of the best-selling security book Hacking Exposed, and Adam Meyers, Vice President of Intelligence at CrowdStrike. It will be moderated by John Pescatore, SANS Director of Emerging Security Trends. To register to attend this webcast, please visit: https://www.sans.org/info/135547
"We're pleased that CrowdStrike is onboard to participate in our highly successful Hacking Exposed webcast series," said Pescatore. "We believe that SANS' audience will greatly benefit from CrowdStrike's expertise and world class research team."
"We're very much looking forward to kicking off this important webcast series with the SANS Institute as a way to give back to the security community," said Kurtz. "Partnering with SANS will allow us to jointly provide the information security community with the highest level of insight and information to help enterprises protect themselves against some of today's most sophisticated threats."
During this first session, Kurtz and Meyers will explore how visualizing data can make it easier to consume, and even illuminate previously unknown relationships that would not be readily apparent in raw data using the open source/commercially available tool from Paterva called Maltego. They will explore the mechanisms by which a user can incorporate their own data sets to rapidly produce visualizations which can be shared with peers and investigate frameworks which can be leveraged to share visualization scripts with others.
Hacking Exposed is considered one of the most definitive computer security books with over 600,000 copies sold and translated in some 30 languages. Co-authored by George Kurtz, Hacking Exposed 7: Network Security Secrets & Solutions, provides expert advice from the world-renowned Hacking Exposed team and exposes hacker's methods in present-day case studies.
