SAN JOSE, Calif., March 10, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The San Jose Earthquakes fans enjoyed a new level of speedy entry to Avaya Stadium as the Quakes embarked on the third season at their state-of-the-art home. Fans have been enjoying all the perks at Avaya Stadium since it opened it 2015: field level club seats; stadium seating engineered for the best viewing angle; the largest outdoor bar in North America; double sided video scoreboard; two-acre fan zone stocked with the city's best food trucks. The fan experience at Avaya Stadium has raised the bar for what MLS supporters and all sports fans should expect from their teams, and now the Quakes have elevated it even more. "Walking around the stadium, seeing how much attention to detail had been made to make the fans happy, I knew we were in good company and felt privileged to be a part of their operations," said ParkHub's SVP of Business Development and Founding Member Jarrod Fresquez.
Starting with the pre-season Sacramento Republic FC game, it has been nothing but wins for the Quakes both on the pitch and the parking lot after they implemented ParkHub's technology with the Impark staff. Fans still pre-purchase parking through Ticketmaster at home or in the lane, but now have extra payment options with ParkHub's mobile point of sale device, called Prime installed. No digging for cash and waiting for change, fans just hand their credit card to the parking attendant and it is processed through the same device that scans season ticket holders' parking pass. In less than 5 seconds, a receipt is printed, placed on the dash, and the fan is quickly on their way. Seasoned fans can also pay with NFC (Apple/Android Pay).
"We strive to give our fans the best possible experience at Avaya Stadium, and it starts with the parking when they arrive at our games," said Earthquakes Chief Operating Officer Jared Shawlee. "We are happy to offer a quicker, more streamlined parking process this season, utilizing the ParkHub technology."
ParkHub is used coast-to-coast at some of the world's premiere sporting and entertainment events and venues, and was designed to handle large volumes of traffic at once and get fans out of line, into the parking lot, and into the stadium faster. At Super Bowl 50 with fans at Levi's Stadium, ParkHub processed one car every two seconds and has been the parking technology provider for the 49ers for the last year. Similar to Levi's Stadium, Avaya Stadium has entrusted Impark to staff experienced parking professionals in all the lanes to not only guarantee that this technology is used to make the parking process faster and easier for the fan, but also to do it with a smile and a friendly wave. "Having used ParkHub at another venue, we were excited to bring it to Avaya Stadium, home of the San Jose Earthquakes. Fans were especially excited to be able to pay by credit card. The speed of processing cash, prepaid passes and credit cards had no effect on our overall transaction times. Impark looks forward to future partnerships with the ParkHub team," said Michael Rescigno, Director of Operations at Impark.
