Luis Moreno has a proven track record in developing successful salon suite businesses in the North Carolina market. He has two locations, each with 37 suites. He plans to develop one more store in North Carolina over the next year creating 40-50 new self-employment opportunities and generating approximately $3 million a year in economic impact to the local economy.
"I am both honored and proud to receive this award," said Luis Moreno, Salons by JC Franchisee of the Year 2018. "I love the work I do and am happy I can provide entrepreneurs, like myself, the opportunity to have a successful and thriving business as part of the Salons by JC family."
Jack Griffey and Cecil Miller founded Salons by JC in 1998. There are nearly 100 locations in the United States that offer beauty and wellness services. Salons by JC offers a salon-suite business model. The franchise leases private suites to independent beauty professionals who rent a suite within the Salons by JC building, but manage their own businesses.
Each salon location averages between 7,000-10,000 square feet and can provide as many as 50 private suites for self-employed beauty and wellness practitioners. Suites include mirrors, shampoo bowls, chairs, cabinets for towels, hood dryers and roll carts for other tools and supplies. The average suite size is 10-feet by 12-feet. Beauty and wellness services include hair styling, hair coloring, hair weaving, massage, nail care, and cosmetic services.
"Luis won this year's franchisee of the year because of his outstanding occupancy rates at both locations," said Steve Griffey, president of Salons by JC. "He is an amazing brand ambassador who works on two Salons by JC councils – Marketing and Empowering You. Most importantly, Luis has built a strong community presence at both of his locations by hosting community events and charity fundraisers."

About Salons by JC
In 1997, Jack Griffey and Cecil Miller began their journey to transform the beauty industry one salon suite at a time. Like most young entrepreneurs, they started out with a big idea but had to learn how to start and run a business from scratch. After much perseverance and hard work, one year later, they opened Salons by JC in Dallas, Texas in 1998, welcoming beauty and wellness specialists who were ready to break free from the traditional salon model. The company has since moved its headquarters from Dallas to San Antonio, where it continues to grow through franchising. Today, Salons by JC has over 90 locations in 26 states and Canada and are looking to develop more than 200 over the next several years.
