SAIC Awarded Contract by U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity
Company to Provide Project Management Services for Clinical Research Support Provided by the Enterprise Information Technology Project Management Office
MCLEAN, Va., July 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) [NYSE: SAI] announced it was awarded a prime contract by the United States Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) to provide project management services in support of the Enterprise Information Technology Project Management Office (eIT PMO). The single-award firm fixed-price contract has a one-year base period of performance, four one-year options, and a total contract value of approximately $16 million if all options are exercised. Work will be performed at Fort Detrick, Md.
The eIT PMO is part of Headquarters, United States Army Medical Research & Materiel Command (USAMRMC), reporting directly to the Principal Assistant for Acquisition. The eIT PMO provides essential information technology (IT) solutions to support clinical research for the USAMRMC. These regulatory-compliant and validated systems support USAMRMC clinical researchers in the development of the FDA-regulated drugs, vaccines, biologics, and devices. The eIT PMO utilizes various commercially available software packages installed and maintained on the DoD Non-classified Internet Protocol (IP) Router Network (NIPRNet) to ensure secure, reliable, and available information.
Under the contract, SAIC will provide all of the necessary resources and expertise to successfully execute the eIT PMO's mission that include Project and Business Operations Management, Requirements Management, Product Development, Product Support and Sustainment, Configuration and Change Management, Systems and Database Administration, Help Desk, and Training to fully support and maintain these systems, meet compliance requirements and support future requirements for the Command.

Portions of SAIC are to be renamed Leidos, following SAIC's planned separation into two independent, publicly traded companies, subject to board of directors approval, as previously announced.
