Ryan Offices in 15 Cities Win 2010 Alfred P. Sloan Awards for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility

DALLAS, Dec. 9, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Ryan, the leading tax services firm in North America, with the largest transaction tax practice in the United States and Canada, today announced that 15 of the Firm's locations across the United States won 2010 Alfred P. Sloan Awards for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility. Ryan offices in Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Chicago, Cleveland, Dallas, Detroit, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, San Jose, St. Louis, and Washington, D.C. were presented with this prestigious award, recognizing employers across the country that successfully use workplace flexibility as a strategy to increase workplace effectiveness and yield positive business results.

Applicants were evaluated in a rigorous two-step process. First, Ryan's application was compared to nationally representative data from the Families and Work Institute's National Study of Employers. Ryan employees in each of the 15 offices receiving the award were then randomly surveyed on their access to flexible work options and the supportiveness of the Ryan culture, and compared against nationally tested measures of workplace effectiveness. As a result, Ryan ranked in the top 20% of employers nationally in terms of flexible work programs, policies, and culture for creating an effective and flexible workplace.
