Rutgers Institute for Ethical Leadership Announces Spring 2015 Line Up of Programs and Events for Regional Leaders
Two-Day Certificate Program, April Leadership Conference and Customized Training Programs
NEWARK, N.J., Feb. 11, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Rutgers Institute for Ethical Leadership (IEL), announced this week its line up of spring offerings, aimed at strengthening leadership among executives in all fields. The IEL, based within Rutgers Business School, will offer a two-day ethical leadership certificate program in March, hold its sixth annual Ethical Leadership Conference on April 30 and provide Customized Ethical Leadership training throughout the year.
The IEL programs target NJ/NY executives from business, nonprofits and government, though IEL's programs have been recognized for their quality and its annual conference typically draws prominent speakers from throughout the country.
- Executive Leadership: An Ethical Journey to Success Certificate Program
The two-day IEL program will take place Tuesday, March 24 and Tuesday, March 31 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The program offers leaders and managers the education, training and critical-thinking tools needed to create an ethical culture and make ethical decisions for real-world challenges. The course incorporates the relationship of compliance to ethics and how an understanding of ethical decisions can avoid costly outcomes. Registration for this program is now open. - 2015 Conference on Ethical Leadership
IEL will hold the 2015 Conference on Ethical Leadership in New Brunswick, NJ on Thursday, April 30 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The conference will focus on ethics in health care and how communities of providers, educators and members move the needle. More than 200 attendees are expected from a variety of leadership functions, covering topics as diverse as fostering an ethical culture to the cost of fraud. Featured speakers will include Michael Ullman, vice president and general counsel of Johnson & Johnson and Robert Garrett, president and CEO of Hackensack University Health Network. - Customized Ethical Leadership Training Programs
For the spring, IEL will now offer customized training programs. The programs give participants an opportunity to learn and apply ethical leadership principles through case studies related to their business and industry. The IEL staff and consultants will work closely with division managers and executives to customize programs that focus on risk assessment and real-life ethical challenges facing their employees.
"We see evidence in the news every day that ethical leadership is needed more than ever," commented Judy Young, the executive director of the Rutgers Institute for Ethical Leadership. "Our diverse programs provide several options to instill in leaders a deeper understanding of the correlation between ethical decisions and their organization's success."
"If you do not have an ethical climate, or aren't creating an ethical climate from the beginning, it can really be detrimental to your organization down the line or as it grows," said Keith Dent, assistant director of Rising Tide Capital, who completed the two-day certificate program in 2014. "This IEL program was really informative."
The IEL, which also operates a number of nonprofit leadership development programs throughout the year, is advised by an executive business cabinet of 15 senior executives from the NJ/NY area.
