Eighty-three percent of working Americans eat lunch in their office or cubicle. Meanwhile, busy moms are looking for more convenient and healthier options for packing their kids' lunch, while schools encourage the use of more sustainable packaging. Bringing lunch from home saves time and money, but neatly packing healthy and appetizing lunches can be difficult. Rubbermaid insight work determined that 44 percent of consumers are frustrated by using traditional reusable food storage containers to transport their lunch to work or school. Rubbermaid LunchBlox resolve that problem. Rubbermaid LunchBlox containers are designed for the lunch foods most commonly carried on the go – sandwiches, salads, left over entrees and sides or snacks like fruit, chips and nuts. Once packed, LunchBlox containers stack together in many configurations, allowing them to fit neatly into any lunch box or bag for a perfectly packed lunch.
"Our insights show families remain budget conscious in the challenging economy and value products that make it easy to save money and eat healthier on the go," said Steve Pawl, Vice President of Marketing for Rubbermaid. "Rubbermaid LunchBlox containers provide a unique solution making it simple to pack a healthy lunch in reusable, environmentally friendly containers that fit in any lunch bag."
This back-to-school season, Rubbermaid is supporting the launch of LunchBlox by partnering with popular lunch brands Arnold® Sandwich Thins®, StarKist® Tuna and French's® Mustard on a national "Pack a Lunch, Save a Bunch" campaign. The promotion will encourage consumers to try LunchBlox containers with a coupon insert in the July 15th Sunday newspaper, along with online banner advertising that will direct consumers to www.packalunchsaveabunch.com, where they can learn more about LunchBlox, get access to easy lunch recipes, and download money saving coupons for Rubbermaid products and partner lunch brands. The promotion will also feature displays at most major grocery retailers, instantly redeemable coupons on partner lunch products, and special "Pack A Lunch, Save A Bunch" packaging featuring an in-pack coupon booklet that provides $5.00 in savings on Rubbermaid products and partner lunch brands.
Rubbermaid LunchBlox containers are sold separately or as kits customized for sandwich, salad and entree lunches with Blue Ice® chill packs that snap to LunchBlox containers to keep lunches cool. The Salad Kit includes a tray to keep toppings like dressings and croutons separate until ready to eat and the Entree Kit features removable dividers for flexibility to keep foods separate or pack larger portions. LunchBlox containers include cup measurements for easy portioning, secure lid seals to ensure foods stay contained for transport but are easy enough for kids to open, and they also easily transition between the freezer, refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher to save families on the go time. Rubbermaid LunchBlox suggested retail prices range from $3.69 to $19.99. Coordinating Insulated Lunch Bags are also available with suggested retail prices ranging from $8.99 to $12.99. Rubbermaid LunchBlox containers are now available at Target, select Walmart stores, Kmart, Meijer, national grocery retailers and on www.rubbermaid.com.
