Rotary Lift's Updated Four-Post Lift Line Offers Ideal Options for Express Lanes
Fast and versatile drive-on lifts help dealers boost profitability and customer satisfaction
MADISON, Ind., June 8, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- North American dealers are increasingly using express lanes to boost service department profitability. By dedicating space for fast oil changes, tire rotations and vehicle maintenance inspections, they can draw more walk-in business while also increasing customer satisfaction. For fixed ops managers hoping to keep up with the competition by opening new express lanes, Rotary Lift offers a range of recently updated four-post lifts designed for speed and versatility.
"Four-post drive-on lifts are ideal for quick-service operations, because they require little setup before the vehicle can be raised in the air," says Jim Dirksen, vice president of light-duty for Rotary Lift. "The technician can simply drive onto the lift's runways and have the car or truck at a comfortable working height in minutes. Over the past couple years, Rotary Lift has expanded and upgraded our four-post lift line, so it is now easier for fixed ops managers to find the right lift for any application."
Rotary Lift's updated four-post lift line includes the 14,000 lb. capacity SM Series lift for cars, pickup trucks, vans and SUVs. The lift's drive-on ramps are louvered for superior traction, and each ramp is fitted with rollers that reduce floor gouging during raising and lowering. All Rotary Lift SM Series four-post lifts come with a durable powder-coated hammer-tone paint finish.
SM Series four-post lifts are available with either an open front (model SMO14) or closed front (model SM14) design. The open front design eliminates the crossbeam between the runways at the front of the lift, which makes it easier for technicians to access engine and front suspension components. These open front lifts require taller columns and have wider footprints than closed front lifts, so facilities with narrow bays may be better served by a closed front design.
All open front and closed front SM Series four-post lifts are available with Rotary Lift's timesaving Shockwave™ technology. Developed for quick service settings, Shockwave-equipped SM Series lifts (models SM14SW and SMO14SW) can be fully raised in just 35 seconds, which is twice as fast as standard four-post lifts. Shockwave-equipped lifts are powered by batteries and have onboard chargers, so they work during power outages and run on a simple 110V power connection. They also come with Rotary Lift's exclusive Spotline™ laser spotting guide that makes it easy to center a vehicle on the lift's runways.
SM Series four-post lifts can be fitted with optional rolling jacks that travel along tracks located on the inside of each runway. These jacks feature 7,000 lbs. of capacity each and make wheels-free tire, brake and suspension work possible. The lifts can also be configured for one-way drive-on, drive-off use, which saves setup time and reduces bottlenecks on the shop floor.
For fixed ops managers who need more versatility from their four-post lifts, Rotary Lift offers AR Series alignment lifts. AR Series four-post alignment lifts come with the same productivity enhancing features found on SM Series lifts. They are available in open (ARO14) and closed (AR14) front configurations and can be ordered with Rotary Lift's Shockwave option to speed up the alignment process.
AR Series alignment lifts are equipped with interlocking spacers along the top of each runway, so technicians can place alignment turntables in various locations. The spacers make it possible to perform four-wheel alignments on vehicles with wheelbases as short as 71 inches (88 inches for extended-length models) and as long as 148 inches (165 inches for extended-length models). The lifts feature a new full-length runway design that allows the vehicle to smoothly roll back and forward during the alignment process. Since there are no obstructions on the runways, technicians can easily roll the vehicle to gather precise measurements. Rotary Lift's recent alignment lift upgrades also include expanded rear slip plates that distribute the vehicle weight over more rolling balls, thereby helping to increase the lift of the slip plate assembly.
"At Rotary Lift, we are always researching, designing and testing new ways to make our lifts better," says Dirksen. "All of our resources are dedicated to lifts and lift accessories. That's part of the benefit of buying a lift from a lift company that has been an industry leader for more than 90 years. If you are outfitting your facility with premium equipment, it only makes sense to insist on vehicle lifts built by a company that focuses year-round on lifts."
