Ronald McDonald House Charities® New York Tri-State Area Awards Over $58,000 In Grants To 11 Nonprofit Organizations
ISELIN, N.J., Aug. 2, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- New York Tri-State Area McDonald's Owner/Operators Associations and Ronald McDonald House Charities New York Tri-State Area ("RMHC NYTSA") are proud to announce the 2017 community grants recipients. In addition to their generous support of five Ronald McDonald Houses, which are "homes away from home" keeping families with sick children close to each other and the care they need, the New York Tri-State Area McDonald's support the RMHC NYTSA to offer community grants to a variety of local nonprofit organizations that serve children through programming in the areas of the arts, education, medicine, crisis intervention, as well as social and civic services.

The following eleven (11) nonprofit organizations were selected to receive a combined amount in excess of $58,000 in grants from RMHC NYTSA:
- African Voices – New York, NY
- Bergen PAC – Englewood, NJ
- Bronx Children's Museum – Bronx, NY
- Cerebral Palsy of Westchester - Rye Brook, NY
- Guiding Eyes for the Blind –Yorktown Heights, NY
- Keeping Babies Safe – Warren, NJ
- MVP Basketball Camp – White Plains, NY
- National Council of Jewish Women Essex County – Livingston, NJ
- Wendy Hilliard Foundation – NY, NY
- Westchester Exceptional Children's School – North Salem, NY
- YMCA of Central & Northern Westchester – White Plains, NY
RMHC NYTSA has now awarded over $147,000 in community grants this year to nonprofit organizations that serve children. To be considered for a community grant, grant applicants must be 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations with a specific program that directly benefits children aged 0-21 years, consistent and effective management, clear goals and objectives, and a demonstrated ability to respond to the needs of children in a manner that yields measurable results.
