ATLANTA, July 7, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Delta Air Lines' (NYSE: DAL) amenity kits are getting a face-lift that will make Delta customers smile. The refreshed Delta One kits will combine two premium, high-quality brands – TUMI and Kiehl's Since 1851 – to create an apothecary in the sky, rejuvenating skin on Delta's longest flights.
Delta's refreshed kits include Kiehl's Lip Balm #1 and grapefruit-scented Deluxe Hand and Body Lotion with Aloe Vera and Oatmeal.
"Every item in our TUMI amenity kit has been thoughtfully selected with our customers' needs in mind," said Allison Ausband, Delta's Senior Vice President – In-Flight Service. "We know our customers have come to expect our industry-leading service, so we're going the extra mile to think of their needs in flight – no matter how big or small."
The kits were introduced on July 1 on Delta One flights, including transoceanic international flights and flights between John F. Kennedy International Airport and Los Angeles International Airport/ San Francisco International Airport, and will feature hard- and soft-cased TUMI bags. Customers will enjoy a navy hard-sided amenity kit outbound from the U.S. and a soft-sided black amenity kit inbound to the U.S., allowing them to add variety to their amenity kit collection each way.
In addition to Kiehl's, the Delta One kits include a TUMI soft touch pen and eye shades, striped socks, a dental kit featuring Crest toothpaste, tissues, mouthwash and ear plugs.
To celebrate the launch of the refreshed kits, Delta flight attendants handed out complimentary Kiehl's samples at the New York City flagship store as well as Kiehl's Nolita and Hell's Kitchen store locations and to customers at the gate prior to boarding select flights between John F. Kennedy Airport and San Francisco International Airport/ Los Angeles International Airport. Customers are also able to participate in an online social media contest by sharing their best travel tips for a chance to win prizes from TUMI and Kiehl's. Visit Facebook.com/Delta for more information.
Delta Comfort+ customers traveling on international flights receive a Rest and Refresh kit with eye shades, ear plugs and a dental kit featuring Colgate toothpaste, while Main Cabin customers receive kits that include eye shades and ear plugs.
Delta's refreshed TUMI amenity kits are the latest in a number of enhancements the airline has made in the Delta One cabin.
In the past year, Delta has enhanced its chef-curated menus featuring the culinary talents of Chef Linton Hopkins and Michelle Bernstein on a wide selection of transoceanic routes. The menus highlight the airline's industry-leading focus on seasonal and regionally-inspired cuisine.
Delta is also partnering with Danny Meyer's Union Square Hospitality Group, featuring new menus inspired by USHG's restaurants on a rotating basis and introducing customers to fresh and innovative dining options on select trans-Atlantic flights out of New York's JFK airport. Delta One flyers currently enjoy a summer menu with selections inspired by Union Square Events through August.
As Delta One customers enjoy the latest creations from the airline's partner and in-house chefs, they'll also be able to enjoy seasonally-rotating wines from Delta's 2016 wine program, curated by Master Sommelier Andrea Robinson. Delta began syncing up its on-board wine selections with the seasonal rotation of its menus earlier this year.
The Delta One cabin also includes premium full flat-bed seats with direct aisle access, Westin Heavenly In-Flight Bedding, in-seat power outlets, noise cancelling headphones and premium entertainment with Delta Studio.
The airline is also currently offering a number of seasonally-inspired summer offerings including strawberry gelato from one of Atlanta's favorite shops, Honeysuckle Gelato, to First Class customers and a Southern Lemonade signature cocktail, featuring Minute Maid Lemonade and Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka, served in all cabins on North America flights, all summer long.
