ATLANTA, July 19, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) launched its 2016 Back2School cause campaign today in partnership with more than a dozen retailers around the country. As millions of kids and teens return to school later this month and in August, the youth advocacy organization reminds parents, teachers and community members not to forget critical after-school hours.
"Every day, 11 million kids and teens have nowhere to go when the school day ends. Research shows that after-school programs work, and youth who attend have better attendance, improved behavior, higher grades and test scores," said Jim Clark, president and CEO of BGCA. "When America thinks about back to school, we want them to also think about after-school. Boys & Girls Clubs empower kids and teens to excel in school, become good citizens and lead healthy, productive lives on their path to great future. We're grateful to have such generous retailers from around the country to support our nation's youth and our Back2School campaign."
Throughout the Back2School promotion, these partners are supporting Club kids and teens by donating school supplies, galvanizing their employees to volunteer with local Clubs and engaging the public to participate in the cause campaign.
