Researchers Confirm Flipped Learning Enters New 3.0 Era, Five Factors Signal a Paradigm Shift in Flipped Learning Has Begun
FLGI hosts Flipped Learning 3.0 webinar series to brief education stakeholders worldwide.
CHICAGO, March 2, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, the Flipped Learning Global Initiative (FLGI), a worldwide coalition of educators, researchers, technologists, professional development providers and education leaders reported evidence that a global paradigm shift in flipped learning has begun. An FLGI task force identified five factors that signal the start of a new era in Flipped Learning:
- Awareness that Flipped Learning is a dynamic, not static, instructional model that is rapidly changing
- Recognition that Flipped Learning is evolving in unexpected ways because of increased research, classroom innovations and advances in technology
- The emergence of Flipped Learning as a global movement
- A new awareness about the scope, impact, and implications of Flipped Learning
- Expanding global demand for skilled Flipped Learning professionals
In February, FLGI Researchers Fellows and Master Teachers confirmed the findings of the management team tasked with building the global network to support flipped learning. The findings came out of the 12-month project that launched the Flipped Learning Global Initiative.

Flipped Learning 3.0
The Flipped Learning Global Initiative has designated the new era and paradigm Flipped Learning 3.0. FLGI is has launched a series of webinars to introduce flipped learning stakeholders to Flipped Learning 3.0. The online sessions will discuss the practical implications for teachers, administrators, tech coaches, flipped learning trainers, consultants, researchers, technology developers and education policy makers. Each session will host Flipped Learning 3.0 innovators with experience in each of the five factors driving the paradigm shift in flipped learning.
