Reputation and Crisis Expert Davia Temin Named One of "Top 100 Thought Leaders in Trustworthy Business" by Trust Across America for Third Year
NEW YORK, Feb. 4, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Marketing, reputation, and crisis strategist Davia Temin has been named for a third consecutive year to the Top 100 Thought Leaders in Trustworthy Business by Trust Across America-Trust Around the World (TAA-TAW). The annual list honors "professionals who are transforming the way organizations do business."
"Trust may be intangible, but its presence or absence moves markets, products, careers, and countries. It is an asset that cannot be overvalued by any company or not-for-profit institution," says Temin, CEO of Temin and Company, a management consultancy focused on marketing strategy, reputation and crisis management, and leadership coaching. "The capital you work so hard to build as an organization is severely diminished when your stakeholders – whether they are a company's customers or a country's populace – lose trust in your leadership and your vision."
Temin works with global corporations, universities, and NGOs on leadership, crisis management, marketing and media strategy, thought leadership, and social media monitoring and positioning, as well as advises major corporations on their women's leadership councils.
"A recent Deloitte study of senior global business executives found 87% of executives rated reputation risk as more important or much more important that other strategic risks their company faces," says Temin. "The impact of a loss of trust is very real, having consequences on governance, revenues, and brand value."
A global initiative launched shortly after the 2008 financial crisis, TAA-TAW uses criteria including transparency, long-term reputation preservation, and stable financials to name experts and leaders that can "collectively transform the way organizations do business."
Temin writes a column for Forbes.com entitled "Reputation Matters" covering social media, branding strategy, crisis management, women's leadership, resilience, and corporate governance in the "25/8" age of digital communication. In addition, she tweets (@DaviaTemin) regularly on these issues, and has published articles in The Huffington Post and American Banker.
She is a frequent public speaker to organizations on subjects ranging from rebuilding trust, crisis and reputation management, and resilience, to building brands over social media, executive presence, and presentation training. She appears regularly on local, national, and global television and radio, and in publications such as Bloomberg, The Wall Street Journal, and The Washington Post.
In addition to her work as a reputation and crisis strategist, Temin has served as the First Vice Chair of the Board of Girl Scouts of the USA, and is currently Chair of the Board of Video Volunteers, and a member of the Board of Managers of Swarthmore College. She is also on the advisory boards of the Knight-Bagehot Fellowship at Columbia Journalism School and ProPublica, and on Harvard Kennedy School's Women's Leadership Board.
