WHAT:
Remarks by Rep. Higgins at a press conference announcing the recent investment of $14 million in New Markets Tax Credit to the Northland Central redevelopment in Buffalo. Northland Central will include a Workforce Training Center, which will be based in a 92,000-square-foot facility in Buffalo and will house administrative space, classrooms, and industrial shops designed to train and educate highly-skilled members in the local workforce to fulfill the requirements of advanced manufacturing in the 21st century. Congressman Brian Higgins will discuss the role of the New Markets Tax Credit program in this project and the importance of preserving the program going forward. The center will train 300 people a year and provide supportive services to its trainees. The center will also act as an anchor for the development of the Northland corridor.
