SEATTLE, June 7, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- National outdoor gear and apparel retailer REI today announced that co-op members elected Beth Newlands Campbell, Stephen Lockhart and Gerry Lopez to three-year terms on the company's board of directors. The REI board also appointed Bert Quintana to complete the term of an open position.

Campbell, who resides in Cape Elizabeth, Maine, joins REI's board as a new member. She is the president of Hannaford Supermarkets, a leading supermarket retailer in northern New England that operates 181 stores in five states. Hannaford is known for its commitment to healthy lifestyles, sustainability and volunteerism. Campbell is also a board member with Maine Medical Center, the Foundation for Maine's Community Colleges and Cornell University's Business Advisory Council.
Lockhart, of Oakland, Calif., was elected to a three-year team after his initial appointment to the board in 2010. He is the regional vice president and chief medical officer for Sutter Health's East Bay Region in California, an affiliate of one of the largest health care associations in the nation. In addition to the REI board, he is the board chair of NatureBridge, an organization providing environmental science education to 40,000 young people annually in the national parks, and a trustee with the National Parks Conservation Association.
Lopez, who resides in Kansas City, Mo., was elected to his first term. As CEO and president of AMC Entertainment, Inc., he oversees the company's 347 theaters in 32 states, the District of Columbia and four countries. With nearly 30 years in management, marketing, sales and operations, his experience with global consumer brands includes Starbucks Coffee Company, Frito-Lay, Pepsi-Cola Company and Procter & Gamble. He has been and is active on several public and private company boards, including his current service to the National Association of Theatre Owners and other related industry organizations.
Quintana was appointed to complete the term of a director who departed from the board. He is the president and chief executive officer of SITEL Worldwide Corporation, a global customer care outsourcing provider headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee with over 57,000 employees in 25 countries servicing approximately 260 clients. Quintana has served on various community boards, including the Pencil Foundation, which supports public-private community partnerships for Metro Nashville public schools.
The 2012 board's leadership was also named, including John Hamlin of Austin, Texas as the board chair and Cheryl Scott of Seattle as the vice chair.
