Registration Under Way for "Handwriting in the 21st Century? An Educational Summit" Set for Jan. 23 in Washington, D.C.

WASHINGTON, Jan. 4, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- In 21^st century classrooms, educators are debating the importance of teaching hand-generated communication (communication via handwriting and digital media). To address this issue, Zaner-Bloser, in partnership with the American Association of School Administrators (AASA), will host "Handwriting in the 21^st Century? An Educational Summit" on January 23^rd at the Newseum in Washington, D.C.

The daylong event will provide access to the following distinguished university professors and researchers from across the country who will present research findings related to handwriting.

AASA Executive Director Daniel A. Domenech will deliver the keynote address.  Afternoon panel discussions will focus on the following topics: the role of prewriting in early childhood education, the role of student hand-generated communication, and the impact of handwriting fluency on college and career readiness. 

A summary of the research findings will be released following the summit.
