Reduce your carbon footprint and recycle your unwanted tires for FREE through November 10th at Big O Tires

DENVER, Oct. 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Each year Coloradoans generate approximately 4 million waste tires and roughly 3 million are properly recycled.  The other million are sitting around in garages, or worse, in landfills.  Recycling tires significantly reduces the amount of waste placed in landfills and Big O Tires is doing its part.  One Hundred percent of the tires that Big O Tires collects are repurposed into useful construction products like playground mulch. 

You can do your part too.  Dig out those unwanted tires and bring them down to any Front Range Big O Tires store.  Drop off up to eight (8) tires and Big O Tires will recycle them FREE of charge through November 10th. 

The tires collected will be recycled into "mulch" by Front Range Tires Recycling and donated to a Habitat for Humanity community project.  Recycled products made from tire shreds and bales are cleaner and more efficient substitutes for traditional products in a variety of contexts including landscape mulch, rubber modified asphalt, sports field mix, erosion control and tire derived fuel.  Because tire shreds are a lightweight material, they also cost much less to transport, and result in fewer vehicle emissions, than a comparable amount of traditional materials.
