RCSN Annual Special Camp Fair Saturday January 25, 2014
NEW YORK, Jan. 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- It may be hard to believe, but now is the time to think about summer camp—especially for parents of children with disabilities. Camp registration opens in the winter, and space and financial assistance is limited. But parents can meet experts from over 70 summer programs serving children and teens with special needs at the FREE 29th Annual RCSN Special Camp Fair on Saturday, January 25, 2014 from 11 AM to 3 PM (NEW LOCATION: Hotel Pennsylvania, 401 Seventh Avenue, 18th Floor, between 23nd and 3rd Streets.) Over 4,000 people attend the Fair every year. The Fair is presented by Resources for Children with Special Needs, (212) 677-4650 ext. 34, www.resourcesnyc.org
Representatives from over 70 summer programs will help parents and professionals plan successful summer experiences for children with disabilities, including those who need special supports. Summer camp is a critical way to help close the "summer learning gap" and provide valuable recreation and social opportunities. The Fair will feature both day camps (New York City) and sleepaway camps (Tri-State area). The Fair will also offer information on tutoring programs, travel programs, remedial education programs, volunteer and job opportunities, and early childhood programs. Spanish, Chinese and sign language interpreters will be available.
Visitors to the Fair will gain access to RCSN's Camps 2014 Directory. More information at www.resourcesnyc.org.
