Raving Fans and High Profile Events Announce Hoover Met Complex's Arrival on the National Stage
Sports Facilities Management's Newest Venue Exceeds Expectations.
HOOVER, Ala., June 15, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Early expectations were eclipsed when the newest venue in Sports Facilities Management's nationwide management portfolio, the Hoover Met Complex, hosted more than 135,000 guests ahead of the anticipated public open house, scheduled for later this week. The venue has already garnered Hoover a ranking as one of "The 15 best travel destinations for youth sports" alongside places like Atlanta, Myrtle Beach, Gatlinburg and Los Angeles.
In first two weeks of operations, attendance figures at the complex exceeded 131,500 guests, as a part of the 2017 SEC Baseball Tournament — which featured a test drive of the spectacular new 155,000 sq. ft. Finley Center by the SEC Fan Fest. The Fan Fest experience, a new addition to the SEC Baseball Tournament, included everything from zip lines and billiard tables to driving simulators and arcade games, plus inflatable bounce houses, live entertainment, a sports bar, as well as miniature golf and photo booths. The activities were complemented by the Finley Center's diverse food and beverage options, which included a variety choices between American, Mexican, and even BBQ.
Monty Jones, Sports Facilities Management (SFM) General Manager at the complex said, "We understand the role of the Finley Center in both meeting and exceeding the expectations set by the new agreement between the Southeastern Conference and the City of Hoover and are encouraged by the overwhelmingly positive feedback from the tournament guests who attended. We look forward to hosting a number of regional and national Championship-caliber tournaments and events in the years to come."
The Finley Center also played host to the unique Made South event last week — a celebration of some of the best artisan goods, food, drink, music and art in the South. The gathering of artisans with live music, food and drink, drew an estimated 2,500 people. The event benefitted the Make-A-Wish Alabama foundation.
In the coming months, the complex will host a number of volleyball, basketball tournaments and events, as well as all-day summer sports camps for the local Hoover community.
According to Sports Facilities Management (SFM) CEO, Jason Clement, "The Hoover Met Complex is positioned to be one of the preeminent locations for family event, sports and recreation in the southeast. City leadership deserves credit for the vision and versatility of the Finley Center, and we are excited by the outdoor fields, splash pad and park amenities scheduled to come online in the upcoming months. When coupled with the Hoover Met Stadium and RV Park amenities, there is nothing quite like it in the country."
The Hoover Met Complex will host a Mayor's luncheon on Friday, June 16th with a free Family Fun Open House for the Hoover community on Saturday, June 17th. For more information, please visit: Hoover Met Complex
