Rasmussen College Names Dr. Florence Richman Senior Vice President of Nursing
Twenty Five-Year Healthcare Veteran Brings Academic Leadership and Industry Experience to Rasmussen College Programs
MINNEAPOLIS, Jan. 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Rasmussen College announced today that experienced educator, nursing leader and entrepreneur Florence (Flo) Richman, Ph.D., NEA-BC, has been named Senior Vice President of Nursing at the College, where she will oversee the ongoing development and implementation of the growing practical and professional nursing programs at its 22 regional campus locations, as well as its unique RN to BSN online program.

With more than 25 years of experience in education and healthcare management, Dr. Richman comes to Rasmussen College from Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA), where she served as Special Assistant to the President for Academic Growth in Allied Health and Nursing, and Dean of Nursing for the largest such program in the state of Virginia and the surrounding Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Prior to her work at NOVA, Dr. Richman served as College Campus Chair for Graduate Business and Management Programs at the University of Phoenix.
As a highly regarded national leader in nursing and healthcare education, Dr. Richman originated the first for-profit national testing program for home health aides. She received the Preceptor Award from the Catholic University of America and the Excellence in Education Award from the State of Virginia. She has been a featured presenter at numerous national conferences on nursing, education and workforce development and has been published in several trade publications, including Caring Magazine and Nursing Spectrum.
Dr. Richman currently serves in several advisory roles. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Nursing from American University, a Master's degree in Nursing with a Minor in Home Health Administration from Catholic University, and a Master's degree in business with a Minor in Entrepreneurship from Averett University. Dr. Richman received a Doctoral degree in Applied Management and Decision Sciences with focus in Leadership and Organizational Change from Walden University.
