Raritan's dcTrack Software Wins Network Computing's 'New Product of the Year' Award
-- Recognized for powerful asset and change management capabilities for tracking data center IT systems, facilities, and networking assets and their interrelationships --
SOMERSET, N.J. and LONDON, April 28, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Raritan today announced its dcTrack™ data center infrastructure management (DCIM) software has won "New Product of the Year" award from Network Computing magazine in London. It also collected the runner-up award in the "Data Centre Product of the Year" category.
Raritan received the awards at the presentation ceremony of the fifth Network Computing Awards, held at London's Hotel Russell. Nominations for these awards were made by readers of Network Computing. Once finalists in each award category were determined, readers were asked to vote on the finalists to determine the winners. Approximately 6,000 individuals cast votes for the 2011 awards, making this one of the most significant surveys relating to networking technology in the UK, according to the magazine.
"We are proud our dcTrack software is being recognized for its exceptional and innovative asset and connectivity management capabilities, and its ability to help IT and facilities organizations simplify change and capacity management in their data centers," said Khaled Nassoura, General Manager, Green Data Center Initiative at Raritan. "dcTrack excels at managing and visualizing physical and logical relationships among all the assets in today's multi-vendor, multi-site data center environments, so that managers can efficiently manage capacity and drive costs out of data center operations. dcTrack also excels in its capability to drill down deep into the infrastructure layer of the data center -- providing valuable information on where best to place servers and devices in racks, as well as how best to provision network, cabling, and power connectivity to those devices."
dcTrack data center infrastructure management (DCIM) V2.4 software maintains accurate, up-to-the-minute views and granular details of every device, along with their connections, across multiple data centers -- including servers, networking and facilities elements. It also provides real-time views of a data center's power consumption, heat dissipation, raised floor space and rack elevations. dcTrack's simple-to-setup and simple-to-use workflow and change management capabilities support the daily operations of managing data centers and reduce significant costs associated with decentralized and manual processes associated with moves, adds, and changes in data centers.
