Rangoni Firenze Trunk Show Featuring Balinese Artisan Handbags
PALM BEACH, Fla., Feb. 16, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Rangoni Firenze Shoes will feature a trunk show of Balinese handwoven, artisan handbags from the Dewi Collection. The trunk show will take place on Saturday, February 23 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m at their Palm Beach store.
Trudy McConnell, founder of the Dewi Collection says, "We have been doing business in Bali since the bombings of 2004 that left the island stranded with no tourism business, which is the backbone of the island. People were literally starving; taking children out of school and having them work in the rice fields."
The Dewi Collection features handwoven bags made with weaving techniques that have been passed down through centuries. The weaving of ate grass dates back to the 11th century in Bali . Weaving is an integral part of village culture and a source of income. Most of our families that weave, sustain their families through farming in traditional rural villages and they are master weaving artisans. Our goal is two fold; keep the children in school, keep the art flowing.
Our product is made from sustainable grass that grows along the rice field and the mahogany is recycled wood which makes for an 'Organic Basket'.
The Rangoni Firenze store is located at 212 Worth Avenue in Palm Beach.
