THE VOW RANKS NUMBER ONE OPENING WEEKEND
LOS ANGELES, Feb. 13, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- ROMANCE, the celebrated women's fragrance by RALPH LAUREN, was the exclusive sponsor of THE VOW movie premiere at Grauman's Chinese Theater in Hollywood on February 6, 2012. The premiere of THE VOW was attended by the film's starring cast, Rachel McAdams, Channing Tatum, Scott Speedman and Jessica McNamee, as well as REVENGE stars Christa B. Allen and Ashley Madekwe, I AM NUMBER FOUR's Teresa Palmer, and Madeline Carroll, Rebecca Black, Bella Thorne and Jana Kramer. Also attending was the couple whose true story inspired the film, Kim and Krickitt Carpenter.
RALPH LAUREN ROMANCE was center stage at the events. The fragrance name adorned the pink step & repeat lining the custom pink carpet along the Hollywood Walk of Fame, where Channing made his entrance alongside Rachel wearing a Ralph Lauren Purple Label charcoal three-piece suit and furnishings.
Following the premiere, the star-studded audience celebrated the occasion at THE VOW official premiere after party at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel where the theme was an elegant wedding reception. A custom wedding cake by Hollywood's favorite dessert maker Sweet Lady Jane revealed the RALPH LAUREN ROMANCE and THE VOW logos among its three tiers, and attendees posed for pictures in a photo booth where wedding-themed images could be instantaneously uploaded to email and Facebook.
Pink roses and ROMANCE fragrances adorned every section of the venue, and the RALPH LAUREN ROMANCE commercial ad, shot by renowned photographer and filmmaker Bruce Weber, and depicting the real-life love story of Argentinean polo player, Nacho Figueras, and his wife, Delfina Blaquier, played for all who attended.
THE VOW and RALPH LAUREN ROMANCE share the theme of enduring love. Paige and Leo (Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum) are a happy newlywed couple whose lives are changed by a car accident that puts Paige in a coma. Waking up with severe memory loss, Paige has no memory of Leo, a confusing relationship with her parents (Sam Neill and Jessica Lange), and an ex-fiance (Scott Speedman) she may still have feelings for. Despite these complications, Leo endeavors to win her heart again and rebuild their marriage.
"The moving premise of THE VOW reflects the RALPH LAUREN ROMANCE story about true love conquering all," says Guillaume de Lesquen, President of Ralph Lauren Fragrances Worldwide, "and there couldn't be two better actors than Rachel and Channing to convey this narrative."
