Rakuten.com Launches Inaugural Super Fashion Week Sale
New survey reveals fashion and accessories as Americans' top holiday gift to significant others… and themselves!
ALISO VIEJO, Calif., Dec. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Americans rushing to finish their holiday shopping can now look forward to a special online sale event dedicated to one of the most hotly-sought after holiday gifts this year.
Surprisingly, it is not the latest smartphone or a holiday getaway that Americans want, but instead, fashion and accessories (right behind a simple "kiss and hug… or something more"), as uncovered in the recent Rakuten Shopping Secrets survey.
To help consumers get outfitted with their fashionable holiday gift, be it for a loved one or themselves, Rakuten, one of the world's largest online retail marketplaces, will launch its inaugural Super Fashion Week sale from today till December 10. The e-tailer earlier launched its new fashion site in October and unveiled singer-songwriter Judith Hill as its fashion ambassador.
Modeled along the same lines as the highly-successful Rakuten Super Sale, the Rakuten Super Fashion Week offers customers deals of up to 85% off a wide range of fashion, accessories, beauty and fragrance merchandise, as well as rewards customers for shopping through the e-tailer's Rakuten Super Points™ loyalty program.
The Rakuten Super Fashion Week features millions of products in fashion, jewelry and beauty from renowned brands such as Michael Kors, Coach, Steve Madden and Calvin Klein.
"The Rakuten Shopping Secrets survey found that 40% of Americans were highly likely to choose fashion and accessories as a holiday gift for their significant others, and even for themselves. And for a good reason too – fashion and accessories, along with jewelry and beauty and grooming products were also found to be among the top gifts that Americans were hoping to receive from their partners and spouses," said George Chang, Senior Vice President, Rakuten.com. "To make it easy, convenient and fun, we have launched our very first Super Fashion Week and believe shoppers will have an enjoyable and stress-free time buying fashion gifts for their loved ones and even themselves."
About the Survey
The findings are part of the Rakuten Shopping Secrets survey, commissioned by Rakuten, one of the world's largest online retail marketplaces. The survey aims to uncover fun facts about shopping - the world's favorite pastime - among consumers in Asia, Europe and America. In the U.S. 1,000 men and women were interviewed through an online survey carried out in October 2014 by Added Value Saffron Hill.
