The Boeing Co. Analyst Notes
On April 23, 2014, before market hours, Boeing Co. (Boeing) reported Q1 2014 financial results. The Company generated non-GAAP EPS of $1.76 on continued strong operating performance, while analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the Company to report earnings of $1.56 per share. Boeing's revenue increased 8.3% YoY to $20.5 billion reflecting higher commercial deliveries. Also, its operating cash flow increased significantly to $1.1 billion in Q1 2014. During the quarter, the Company repurchased 19.4 million shares for $2.5 billion. Boeing also lifted its 2014 core EPS guidance to between $7.15 - $7.35 from $7.00 - $7.20, to reflect the benefit of a tax settlement to be recognized in Q2 2014. Pentair, Inc. Analyst Notes
On April 22, 2014, Pentair Ltd. (Pentair) announced Q1 2014 sales of $1.7 billion, down 2.8% YoY. Adjusted earnings per diluted share were $0.73, versus $0.58 in Q1 2013 driven by the continued momentum in productivity and synergies. On a GAAP basis, the Company reported EPS of $0.59 compared to $0.25 per share in Q1 2013. The Company informed that the quarterly dividend effective for Q1 and Q2 2014 is $0.25 per share per quarter. The Company informed that it will seek shareholder approval for raising dividend to 30 cents for each of Q3 and Q4 of 2014, as well as Q1 and Q2 of 2015. Looking forward, the Company expects adjusted EPS in a range of $1.02 to $1.05 for Q2 2014, on projected revenues of about $1.95 billion. Northrop Grumman Corporation Analyst Notes
On April 23, 2014, Northrop Grumman Corporation (Northrop Grumman) reported Q1 2014 earnings. The global security Company reported total sales of $5.8 billion for Q1 2014 down by 4.2% YoY. Q1 2014 total operating income increased to $845 million or 11.3% YoY, and operating margin rate increased 200 basis points to 14.4%. Q1 2014 net earnings were $579 million, or $2.63 per diluted share, beating average analysts earnings estimates of $2.15 per share, polled by Thomson Reuters. According to the Company, the higher operating income is mainly because of a $77 million improvement in net FAS/CAS pension adjustment. The Company repurchased 4.8 million shares of its common stock for $564 million in Q1 2014. In addition, the Company raised 2014 EPS guidance to $8.90 - $9.15 from the earlier $8.70 - $9.00. Omnicom Group Inc. Analyst Notes
On April 22, 2014, Omnicom Group Inc. (Omnicom) announced that its worldwide revenue in Q1 2014 increased 3.0% YoY to $3.5 billion. The Company in its Q1 2014 earnings report stated that domestic revenue increased 4.0% YoY to $1.9 billion, while international revenue increased 1.9% YoY to $1.6 billion. Operating income increased to $382.7 million from $371.7 million in Q1 2013. Omnicom's adjusted net income for Q1 2014 was $208.1 million or $0.80 per share, as compared to $199.7 million or $0.76 per share for Q1 2013. Following the results release, stock of Omnicom fell by 2.27% and ended the trading session at $69.87 with a total of 2.60 million shares trading during the session. McKesson Corporation Analyst Notes
