Quality Expo Debut in Shanghai, China
-- Focusing on medical device quality assurance and control; Co-locating with MEDTEC China 2014
SHANGHAI, June 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- On September 25-26, 2014, Quality Expo -- the global leading quality show held by UBM -- will have its debut in China at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center, focusing on medical device quality assurance and control. Meanwhile, Quality Expo China 2014 will co-locate with MEDTEC China 2014, China's only dedicated exhibition of medical design & manufacturing, which will attract more than 8,000 professionals from the global medical industry.
Quality Expo China 2014 will present the newest tools and technologies to help the manufacturer ensure quality, reduce costs, streamline processes, and deliver value to customers -- categories include Medical Equipment Registration & Application, Market Access, Product Certification, System Certification, Testing Service, Testing Apparatus & Instruments, Diagnostic Reagents, Quality Control, Regulations Consulting, Risk Management, Clinical Research, Training, Verification, IP Protection, etc.
So far, compared with the U.S. and Europe improved quality control system, China's quality control on medical devices is in a preliminary stage. According to an SFDA report, in 2013, 75 adverse events of death and 34,542 serious injury events were reported to the National Adverse Drug Reaction Monitoring Center, an increase of 46.9% over 2012. It's noted that 70.1% of dubious adverse events on medical devices were operated by the professionals.
With more attention paid by the Chinese government on the quality of medical devices and health products, the national and provincial quality inspection departments are gradually increasing their efforts on quality control and inspection. In the new Regulations on Supervision and Management to Medical Instruments implemented in June 2014, there are very strict regulatory requirements for the manufacturing quality of medical devices, which require manufacturers to establish and perfect the production to adapt to the quality management system and to ensure its effective operation.
