"Computerworld is honored to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of the 2013 class of Laureates and to share their work," said John Amato, vice president & publisher, Computerworld. "These projects demonstrate how IT can advance organizations' ability to compete, innovate, communicate and prosper."
QAS is being honored for a project at the Haverford Township Environmental Center in Pennsylvania. The center was seeking a technology solution to showcase its LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certified Building to township residents and visitors to the recreation center. They selected the GreenTouchscreen solution offered by QAS.
Today, the GreenTouchscreen educates residents and visitors about the Center. Green building materials used in construction of the building are showcased on the website along with a green features map and LEED checklist explaining how certification was obtained. The interactive display engages users with 3D animations of sustainable systems like the Geothermal and Energy Recovery GreenTouchscreen modules. Calculators are used to simulate how visitors' decisions change their impact on the environment, with carbon footprint and CO2 emissions depicted.
"Everyone at QAS shares in this prestigious award and should take great pride in the fact that our innovative GreenTouchscreen solution is being recognized as a clear, engaging visual tool that is informative and motivating," said Nico Willis, CEO of QAS. "We look forward to bringing the GreenTouchscreen solution to many more clients committed to driving behavioral change by telling the sustainability story of their buildings."
